South-West Texas Border SBDC's are Open for Business ** Details

UTSA to Participate in the 15th Annual AMCDPE Conference in Mérida, Yucatan

San Antonio, August 19, 2014 – The International Trade Center, an SBDC at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Institute for Economic Development announced that it will participate in the 15th Annual Mexican Association of Small Business Development Centers (AMCDPE) Conference in Mérida, Yucatán, México taking place August 27-29. The AMCDPE is the Mexican equivalent of the US Association of Small Business Development Centers (ASBDC).

Since 2003, the International Trade Center has been a key partner for the AMCDPE, and other Mexican governmental organizations, in helping to develop the now extensive network of SBDCs throughout the country. The International Trade Center will lend its support at the conference, and will be presenting on several topics to attendees.

UTSA presentations at the conference will include: Carla Gonzalez, SBDCGlobal Site Specialist, who will be discussing the on-going international SBDC Expansion work that is building US modelled SBDC networks internationally as well as SBDCGlobal.com services for SBDC clients and business advisors; and Deborah Schueneman, SBDCNet Director, will be discussing research information about small businesses for small businesses as well as SBDCNet services. Julio Garcia de las Mestas, International Business Consultant, and Al Salgado, Director of the South-West Texas Border SBDC Network, will also be in attendance for the conference.

“The work that the AMCDPE has done to build a strong and cohesive SBDC network is commendable,” said Cliff Paredes, Director of the International Trade Center. “We are proud to have been able to assist them with training and professional development and to learn from our relationship with them.”
