Hosted by the USMCA SME Dialogue Organizing Committee, the VIP reception will provide an opportunity for visiting U.S., Mexican, and Canadian government dignitaries, and private sector trade experts to meet with community leaders and economic development professionals.

February 25, 2022 – USMCA SME HYBRID Dialogue
The USMCA SME Dialogue will be a full-day event led by the U.S. Trade Representative and the Governments of Canada and Mexico. It will include presentations and panel discussions from North American trade and investment experts to provide participants with high-value and actionable information on how small businesses can benefit from the USMCA. This discussion will be both in-person and remote.

San Antonio Influenced the USMCA Small Business Chapter:

The USMCA is the first U.S. negotiated trade agreement to have a dedicated Small Business Chapter and that was influenced by UTSA. With support from the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Trade Representative, UTSA has led the expansion of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) model to over 268 SBDCs in 24 countries, serving almost 500,000 businesses each year. SBDCs create economic impact in each country but also open small business trade and investment opportunities.

During this event, participants will learn about new USMCA provisions that will facilitate increased small business trade and investments.

Topics Include:

  • Export marketing
  • E-commerce
  • Logistics
  • Trade finance
  • Legal considerations will also be covered in interactive panel discussions led by USMCA subject matter experts
