SBDCGlobal

Building SBDC Networks | Developing SBDC Professionals | Connecting SBDC Clients

2017 was an important year for SBDCGlobal; it experienced continued growth and change. Not only did the site expand into new markets and countries, but we formally integrated our “International SBDC Expansion Initiative” into the SBDCGlobal program to give foreign governments, SBDC professionals, and clients the best training, resources and trade oppotunites possible.
SBDCGlobal completed its link with with the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (SEBREA) to bring millions of users to the site and build more trade opportunities for existing site users. To connect more users, two MOUs were signed: one between UTSA, the Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa de El Salvador (CONAMYPE) and the Agencia de Promoción de Exportaciones e Inversiones de El Salvador (PROESA) to bring more Salvadoran users to the site; and another between UTSA and the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) to launch the SBDCGlobal.com trade platform in Belize.

Through the domestic SBDC Director Trade Certification Series and SBDC Consultant Trade Certification Series, SBDCGlobal trained over 89 SBDC Directors and 114 SBDC Conultants in the US on best-practice for running and opperating an impact-creating center.

Internationally, SBDCGlobal conducted the SBDC Counselor and Director Certificate Training in Barbados, Colombia, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, St. Lucia and Tunisia. More than 807 professionals were trained on how to run US modeled SBDCs.

2017 was a great year for SBDCGlobal; 2018 promises to be even better.
